Are there any insurance companies to watch out for who are not likely to replace a bed damaged accidentally (the strap holding the bed up on one of the sides has broken) on a new for old basis?

Is this something that has happened but you don't have cover in force? If so, no insurer will cover it.
If you have insurance, and the cover is wide enough and the cause of the damage is covered, a repair will be attempted first. Remember an excess will be payable.
Most would be new for old.0 -

You need to ring your insurer to see if you are covered.
If you're thinking of taking a new policy up and then claiming, that won't work.0
