Does balance transfer affect Section 75 protection?

I need to make a couple of sizeable purchases shortly and want to use a credit card so that I can use Section 75 should anything go wrong.

I intend to make the purchase on my existing Barclaycard. I've never used this for purchases before, only as a balance transfer card. The 0% balance transfer rate ends on 1st Sept 2013. So after making these two new purchases I intend to balance transfer the entire lot onto a new balance transfer card with different provider.

I would be grateful if someone could advise me on how this will affect my rights under Section 75? Will Barclaycard still be jointly liable with the retailer under Section 75 even though I will have shifted the entire purchase amount onto a new card via a balance transfer?

They will , however you also have to ensure you take reasonable steps also
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
