Debit Card arrived opened in post...

Today i got home to find a letter from Halifax on the floor, with no envolope... It had been opened and there was no "how to use visa electrons" booklet which said should be in the envolope, but since it didn't arrive in one, i didn't get that either!
All i got was a letter with debit card attached to it on the floor, the sticker telling me to activiate it had been removed aswell (i've had a Halifax Visa before and it had a call bla bla to activiate).
It also said on the letter to expect a pin soon, so i'll just bin that since the cards now useless!
So i rang Halifax and they've cancelled the card and i have to go in my branch to request a new one to be sent...
Should i complain to royal mail?
Thanks,
Andrew.

If you want a book of first class stamps then yes complain - Many times I've complained to them and that's all I've ever managed to get  I've had opened mail and they said its the result of their machines. Funny how the machine read the mail and put it back in the envalope with a page missing.......I hope who ever it was enjoyed reading the letter from my then BF0 -
I dont see you having any right to complain as... i always get most of my debit cards like this... be it citibank, llods TSB or Barclays.
The cards are disguised as normal everyday mail in order to reduce fraud and cut overhead costs... like SMS services0 -
Lucky for you Sky in that not every Halifax bank card that is issued has to be activated (by telephone) - luckily yours was0

Royal Mail aren't very receptive to complaints, I've had one complaint about a lost registered item which has been unanswered for two weeks now
About debit cards, they are supposed to look like normal mail but these days you can almost quite easily pick out the discreet white envelope in the mail. Don't talk about cheque books... :rolleyes:0 -

Well if most of my debit cards were turning up opened and deemed damaged by Royal Mail I'd be getting my cards delivered to somewhere else!0 -
I've complained by email and waiting for response.
