Declined for Barclaycard initial card why?

so i applied for a barclaycard initial card.I recived a letter stated that i had been provisionally accepted and could i please send in proof of address and ID.

So i sent in my passport and 3 utility bills.(i have been at this address 5months.) i waited a week then called them to check the status. I was then told that my document were not acceptable and i had been declined.I asked if i could send any other documents but was told no.

My credit file has had defaults on in the past but these expired and were removed a year ago.no ccj or missed payments in the last year.

I have also attempted to apply for a capital one card progress but was declined also

What could be causing me to be declined?

Have you checked the CRA's?

Only at that address for 5 months = not on the electoral roll I guess? That is a major reason for declining.

i received a letter a month ago and called recently the local council and they advised that i had been added 'As of May' to the Electrol Roll. Guess my credit file hasn't been updated yet..... also what are CRA's?

^This. Especially since elections have just passed, local authorities have had better things to do than update CRAs with ER data, so it's possible that it's been delayed.

Try applying for an aqua card.

In regards to the barclaycard I.D I had the same recently and was declined they couldn't even be bothered to write to me and tell me! I rang and asked why they declined my application the reply was "because you sent more proof then required" I mean what the hell haha ah well it's there loss.

ah well got a letter today saying there is not enough creit history at your current address as youve moved. applied for Aqua also and was declined flat out.
