Downloading TV to smartphone

I have the Sky Go app on my phone, but found out I need to pay an extra £5 a month to download programs to watch when I am not in a wifi area. I was looking to pass a few hours on a plane journey by doing this.

Are there any apps that let you download for free?

It's the data usage you have to pay for when downloading, nothing to do with the app itself.
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it
  • I have unlimited data, so no problem with that part (is that streaming? Not sure if the terminology.)

It is the downloading and watching later in a non wifi area ie on a plane that I am not sure of, can I do this on iplayer or something like that?

BBC let you download a program and keep it for 4 weeks. I think once you go into the program, you then have 7 days to watch it IYSWIM. x

Forgot to say, the BBC option is free! All you do is select what you want to download and leave the app open overnight and the next morning you should have all of your programs ready to go. Just don't open them until you are ready to watch. x
  • Thanks, will give that a try now.
  • Having a nightmare, can only see on option to watch a program straight away on BBC iplayer, anyone know how I can save it to watch later please?

Only the iPhone version of BBC iPlayer lets you download programs for later viewing.
The Android version doesn't have that facility yet: they keep promising it though!
