Current account details on credit report?

Hello,
I've recently looked at both experian and Equifax's reports and neither show details of my only bank account - a graduate account with £2000 arranged overdraft and originally opened about 13 years ago. I'm currently having difficulty getting credit and I'm wondering if a lack of bank details is the reason? I can't even see a space onto reports where these details might be?

You could add a notice of correction to your credit reports indicating that your bank doesn't report to CRA's. This will defer all of your applications to be ready by a human.
If you ask your bank nicely they might write a short letter saying there has been no problems running the account that you can then pass onto lenders. Not sure whether they'd pay much attention to such a letter, but it seems like the obvious solution to the problem. What will your verse be?

OP, usually the bank account will appear with any other credit agreements held, it should show as a current account with a limit and balance. One thing to check is that the address your bank statement goes to is exactly the same as the address on the voters roll and the one the CRAs hold. I live in a flat which can either be number/house name/section of complex or house name/number/section of complex and as these were different I had to email Experian to get my address amended as it wasn't showing my bank and I held a current account, credit card and loan that were not showing which gave me a limited history.
If there is an address variation this can be put in a Notice of Correction, the underwriter may then run a manual search on the variation though in many cases this is done as normal procedure.
There is also a chance that the bank details aren't the source of the problem so obviously check the usual things- amount of credit you currently have access to (also compared to your income), payment history and that you haven't applied for a lot of credit in a short period of time.0 -
Thanks for the replies.
I have no missed or late payments so that can't be the problem. The only other thing I can think is my income to debt ratio, but this would only be a problem if my overdraft was showing as this is the majority of my debt!
My address doesn't really have a variation, and my credit card is with my own bank and that's showing on my report, and they used my current account details when I took out the credit card.
It's all very confusing, and I can't check Call Credit's report because they can't verify my identity - I wonder if that's because my bank account details are missing?!
Who would I contact about this?0 -

Yup I'm on the electoral roll too. I've been through everything!
I applied for HP for a car yesterday and was referred to underwriter, still waiting to hear back. The car's only £3000 so if I get declined for this then there's something really wrong!0 -
Question was, specifically, do both your Experian and Equifax credit reports show this?Yup I'm on the electoral roll too.
You've said what's not showing, but what *is* showing on your Experian and Equifax reports, ie your credit card, ER information, and that's it?I've been through everything!
What's your income?...CC debt?...CC credit limit?...employment status? Any financial associates?0 -
My electoral roll details for both my current and previous address are showing on both reports.
My credit card has a £500 limit and the balance is about £430 with no missed or late payments.
There's also a good few years of mobile phone contract payments, a few store cards from a few years back that were all paid in full on time, and a home phone and Internet account that's still in my parents address and my dad has always paid on time. I wondered whether this would look odd, but have been advised that it shouldn't make a difference.
I've been employed by the same company for 4 years, only on full time minimum wage but I'm starting a new job soon and need to sort a new car. I would have thought HP would be my best bet since its secured but I'm wondering if even that is now not possible?0 -
Oh, and no financial associates.0
