More than 1 Santander123 account???

I had some great adivce to a previous question, so hoping someone can advise again?

Although I am middle aged, its only VERY recently I have had a bit of spare money to play with, so its all new and strange to me, to be trying to make the most of my money ;)

In the process of opening a joint Santander 123 account with OH, mainly to get the 3% on £20,000.

And because NatWest (who I have banked with for years) seem to be totally inept aytime I ask them a question

Just had to send proof of identity off to Santander for OH (we recently married so he isnt on electoral register at THIS address yet) so the joint Santander123 application is ongoing......

Then I read on an MSE thread, that you can have more than one Santander123 account!!

I have another £20,000 only earning 1.6% and can meet the 123 criteria on my own so thought......

Maybe open a 2nd Santander123 just in my name????

But.....:rotfl:

Then read that applying for a bank account causes a "credit search"......read that on MSE too! ;)

So if I was to apply for a solo 123 account, while the joint one is being processed, would that cause a big hooha???

Is it more sensible to sort out the joint one 1st?

And THEN apply for a 2nd solo account?

Btw Santander didnt want proof of indentity for me (and nor did Chesire BS), probably because I have been at this address for 25 years.

Thank you for any advice :T

Just so long as you don't expect Santander to be different.

The accounts are good and the automated services are OK. Manual processes, avoid if at all possible. Questions, ask them on here. You may get an answer from the one competent employee.

    No. Don't worry about it.
