Similarly, I place the food in a plastic food bag, freeze in a takeaway container/tupperware box then remove once it's frozen. The "food bricks" take up a lot less room in the freezer too.

I've frozen curries, chillis, pasta in sauce, soups and rice like this. I usually put them in a bowl/tupperware box to defrost as sometimes I manage to puncture the bags in the freezer (probably from ramming as many as I can in a drawer) and occasionally get a bit of leakage

great thread,trying to reduce food waste and will defo start to freeze more, love the sandwich idea for packed lunches.,,,would tuna and sweetcorn freeze?bagels and cream cheese?
