*cough* Let me let you into a little secret....

Some of us worked out, some time ago, that it's the exfoliating action of the hot muslin cloth that gives your skin the improved appearance - nothing to do with the lotion, although I grant you the Liz Earle cleanser smells lovely.

However, I am too MSE to pay £10 for a lovely smell. So nowadays, I buy a metre of muslin on Ebay, cut it into rectangles*, et voila! Enough muslin cloths to last you through numerous machine washes - and you can use it with any cleanser you like. Or just soap.

*If you want to be fancy, you can hem it with your sewing machine at this point.
:rotfl:I was wondering how long before someone worked that out! I was always afraid to post that as I didn't want to upset/anger people and end up with hate-pm (which has happened before!) I would add that microfiber cloths (new-age type flannels which feel super-soft and are super-absorbent, also great for cleaning glasses) are also great for washing skin and if your drying your hair, are fantastic at this also-though you'd possibly need a far larger size square! I've seen these in various pound shops/99p stores/TK Maxx but it can be hit and miss as to if they are being sold or not.

Mademoiselle, could you possibly provide a link to the muslin cloth seller on Ebay please? I know there may be lots of products but I try and go with ones recommended - many, many thanks.

Ps and daft question I know but, when I'm cutting the cloth up, should I just do it to, say, size of a wee face towel or something? (I'm sure there's a bit of OCD in me. I link things to be exact) Thanks again :).

  • I used to use Cleanse and Polish but stopped when they changed the formulae and then denied that anything had changed - I still use muslin cloths to remove whatever cleanser I am using.

    £2.98 at the moment

CURSES!! just bought a new one last week to take advantage of the free delivery, when it was at full price.

i would definitely recommend it especially at 2.98 but totally agree it's the cloth that works the magic :)

    Would this be the material

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100-COTTON-MUSLIN-FABRIC-per-1m-Metre-Premium-Cloth-Craft-Material-143cm-Wide-/190770377472?pt=UK_Crafts_Fabric&var=&hash=item2c6accf300

I'm now thinking I should have bought this rather than a years worth of face scrub from AF????

Hi, I'm a new customer of the Liz Earle site and I placed my first order last night during the offer - I saw only afterwards that they do this mini-deal where they send the friend who recommended you to LizEarle a fab FREE little 'Try Me Kit'.

It's really prettily packaged and seems to be worth around £20 according to their site. Well, no one recommended me :( but I would love the freebie as a pressie for my sister-in-law - such a swanky looking pressie and she doesn't need to know it was free! :p It's such a shame to let it go to waste and unclaimed from eligible new accounts.

I was hoping that there would be someone out there that might be able to help me? Someone who is a registered customer of LizEarle and who has ordered from them before, and doesn't mind forwarding me the TryMeKit once they receive it at their address. Cheeky of me to ask, I know =x
I will FOR SURE repay any postage costs you incur as well as try to reimburse you as best I can for your kindness :)

I would also gladly do the same for someone else, (and I'm willing to try) but on their terms&conditions they state the recommender has to be someone who has made purchases from LizEarle before, so maybe not new accounts? But if someone else has a new account and wants to try doing a 'freebie trade' with me, (I say they recommended me and they say I recommended them) I'll still happily give it a go.

They seem kind of strict regarding the terms & conditions - I already called up earlier trying to blag it but they weren't having any of it - the recommender has to be a registered customer of theirs who has ordered before. Anyone else who bought from LizEarle for the first time is free to try this, so long as they know someone who already buys from the site/mailing list or is lucky enough to find someone kind enough to help!!
Hope someone else can benefit from this at some point :)
