I notice Whiteaway Laidlaw Bank, now part of the Manchester Building Society, are right up there at 6.06% with their 60-day notice account, yet I never see a mention of them on here.
They appear to be FSA-regulated etc, there seem to be no catches. Anyone know anything good or bad about them?

Dunno what their track record is, but during my brief relationship with the Manky B/S their "top of the heap" savings account dropped faster than a thing which drops very fast indeed...
Extra 1/10 of a percent (over IceSave) for 60 days notice..? Not one for me.0 -
Don't mind the 60 days notice bit as am not looking to move money around, so would be more concerned if MBS had a record of dropping rates after sucking in savers.Dunno what their track record is, but during my brief relationship with the Manky B/S their "top of the heap" savings account dropped faster than a thing which drops very fast indeed...

Well, they wouldn't be alone in the old "suck and drop"... that's why I'm not keen on notice accounts unless there's a good premium.0
