    • Write to letting agent about returning my admin fee for a flat I didn't go ahead with. They said I could have it back when it was relet, but the landlord has taken it off the market so I don't get it back now

This is advice from the CAB on letting fees. (Link)

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for starting us off Josie, what a horrible position for your boss to put you into! But on the plus side at least you know you are ok.
Stitchy - You don't need to pay for any models if you are upfront about it & aim it at some hopefuls as some experience for them that they can add to their portfolio, I'm sure most would jump at the chance! Just advertise on FB & I'm sure people will volunteer, they certainly would in my town anyway, lol.
LPP - Hope you feel better soon.
Ally - Thanks for the link for Josie, I will save that for future reference!
Carrie - I feel your pain! My DH has done that once with ALL his pedals, never again fortunately...(that I am aware of)
Ziggy - Hope your're ok now after your fall yesterday. Are you going to help out the lady that gave you all that hassle?

    Today I have/will:-
    • Made use of free water at work
    • Picked up new car part on my lunch break from the cheapest place found after getting some quotes yesterday
    • B/L/D from stores
    • HM porridge pot for brekkie
    • Log calories & exercise on free apps
    • Dinner from meal plan - HM Spag bol. I make a big portion, bulk it out with a lot of veg & freeze half of it as a "ready meal" for the two of us later on :)
    • Check postcode lottery & birthday bingo
    • Charging phone at work
    • Heating off
    • Check online banking
    • Check for new mystery shopping opportunities
    • Enter some comps
    • Do some surveys
    • Declutter & flylady
    • Check FB & fleabay
    • Someone hopefully coming to pick up the guitar he bought from us on fleabay, not overly impressed with the amount we got for it but it's better than nothing right?
Hope everyone is ok & has a great, MSE day x

    Afternoon everyone,
What a wet soggy day AND it's blowing a gale. Defo had the best of the day here!
@ally - Have PM'd you a reply re the onions. These job centre encounters....Oh my days!.....How rude was that to your partner? What decade are these people living in? Mind you, my husband & I are married but have different surnames & lots of people/companies struggle to cope with that as a concept...the worst being ebay/Paypal! Think the default setting of this country is the 1950s, lol!
    Today, I have:
    *Done lots of surveys.
*Received a £5 M&S voucher through the post via M&S credit card. We only use it for petrol & planned spending, so it does feel like free money when the vouchers arrive.
*Planted out 5 little parlsey plants I potted up as roots from a supermarket pot.
*Sowed a few more carrots in my carrot box.
*Potted up all our pepper plants into their final big pots.
*Watered & checked all veggies for pests/problems....blocked access to cloche last night when I spotted a sparrow going in & emerging looking like he was CHEWING! He was! Went to have a look, 5 pecks out of a lettuce!
*Made sure all my mini-polytunnels are as secure as possible. It's so windy here today & the 99p shop polytunnels are so useful & a great find, but not sure how they'll stand up to winds like these.
*Picked coriander, chives & a small selection of wild salad leaves from garden to use in tonight's dinner (my wild pickings often need to be disguised with lettuce for Mr F!)
*Knit while catchiing up with a couple of TV progs....have chucked out 2 pairs of knackered socks this week, but have a funky green pair on the needles for myself, plus 2 more lots of nice sockwool from my Mum. Am wondering why I chose a complicated pattern as in my usual pattern, I could have finished 2 pairs by now!
*Go through the fridge & make sure I get everything that needs using into tonight's Spicy chickpea & vegetable stew.
That's it for me today......I too love the idea of '1 song housework'......something similar I often do is 'Put 10 things away'. You can do it if you're waiting for the kettle to boil, for the advert breaks, or just if you don't fancy doing housework but are aware the place looks like a pig's breakfast.
    Cheers for now,
    foxgloves x

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hello

Late post, but have been very busy this week. Things are looking up, have made it through another quarters VAT bill, and celebrated my business's first birthday this week.

    Today:

    1) Checked online banking
    2) Made husband call CC2 as we had an annoying 'you have missed your min payment' letter to come home to, which I knew wasnt possible. Sure enough they admitted there was no missed payment. Just an error at their end.
    3) Sons savings account statement came in today, so I tried to explain to him about interest. He's 4.5 and got £7 for the year, so I tried to tell him its like getting a present for saving :) He listened for about oooo 2 minutes..but hey I tried.
    4) Bought the cheapest petrol available £1.29 per litre, as per the daily petrol email.

    Think thats it!

    night all.
