Mortgage payment protection

In the process of buying a house, and simultaneously may need to take time off work to have an operation.
I don't get work sick pay, just SSP which wouldn't cover my new outgoings.
But if I were to get PPI/ mortgage protection insurance knowing that I would require time off work for an op, is this likely therefore to not be covered?
I appreciate each insurance company will have their own regulations, but I am presuming that most will have legislation to this effect and asking here may save me scouring every type of cover in the hope of finding something that doesn't exist.
Thank you for your help all!

You would not be covered. Once you have suffered symptoms or are aware of an issue then it is too late.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thought so. Damn!
Does that include not knowing that you would require treatment at a later date? Please respond to mine and others' posts with courtesy and kindness- and I will not deliberately disrespect you. Down with the trolls!0
