sorry, but may I remind you this is for a company??
You may.
And please can you also be reminded that it was pointed out to you in the very first reply on this thread that your purchase was a business to business transaction, and as such you have no consumer rights.
You were also advised in the very same post to check your contract for any terms about return of faulty goods.
Have you done that?
I ask because you seem to have totally ignored that post.0 -
sorry, but may I remind you this is for a company?? we do not support win8 due to our software and maintenance needs...
what is the chance it has the same RJ45 problem, being made by Samsung???
It is also a bit expensive for a low powered, pentium dual core..
here is a Core i3 with Win7 Professional 64-bit for £382..

or an acer for £330..

Can I remind you that you wanted four usb ports not the three the above two laptops have.0 -

It's a fairly heavy reply considering everyone on this thread has sought to help you find a solution to this issue, with various solutions suggested. No, we don't know the specific answer to your question, but that's because it's a B2B issue posted on a consumer orientated forum, but have tried to find other ways to help you.0 -
I have a Samsung Ultrabook and the RJ45 socket is a lot more difficult to use than the one on my HP laptop. I can see that it might be tricky for someone with weaker fingers to remove. So how about think differently - rather than removing the cable from the computer, remove it from the router instead, and lock the laptop away with the cable still in place.
Or just do as aldredd said back in post #3 and configure the wifi securely.0 -

Yes, about the level of 'support' I expected...
It is a shame and a pity, that if I was a consumer buying the one laptop, I would get a replacement immediately.... and not be fobbed off by Samsung UK, with an answer that would even make an inexperienced pcworld employee blush at how stupid it was... :O
It is a shame that B2B is woefully inadequate, unlike consumer rights...
I remind people that I am NOT in any position to offer anything but advice to my manager, even though she is the nicest one I have known in my 35 years in computers...
If you do not mind reeling up 20 feet of cable, routed round the building, and various pipework, just because the end cannot be released from the laptop, then of course it is up to you....
as I said in my original post, it is being looked at as a design fault, we are still waiting for a conclusion..0 -
Ahhh... new information. If you do not mind reeling up 20 feet of cable, routed round the building, and various pipework, just because the end cannot be released from the laptop, then of course it is up to you....
Anything else you would like to tell us so that we have a better chance of providing the answer you want to hear?
It is quite possible that business to business contracts could provide just as much protection, and even more, that B2C transactions.
B2B arrangements depend more heavily on the actual contract that has been negotiated, which is why you have been asked to read your contract for pertinent information.
Hope that helps.

Make/buy a short LAN cable extension and plug this into the laptop and plug the 20m cable into that. I await a reason why you can't do that with bated breath.0

I would give Equanet a call again and tell them you want to send one in for them to take a look at because you are not happy and believe tehre to be an issue0
