Northern Rock / Pinnacle Insurance

Options
Hello , I am new on here and to all this , my wife has been telling me to check for ppi , I never thought or really troubled myself to check .
Here goes I have had a northern rock mortgages since pre 2000 , I have also had a pinnacle insurance sold to me with the mortgage in 2004 , I was told it went hand in hand with the mortgage , I have been with a halifax mortgage for nearly two years now , but when I checked bank statements I am still paying a direct debit to pinnacle insurance , now call me daft , but why am I paying for a product that doesnt apply anymore ? Surely this should have stopped when I was advised two years ago by NRAM that I would not qualify for a new mortgage deal ! , Also any advice on the actual product as way back in 2004 i was told I could not get the northern rock mortgage without paying the pinnacle insurance which on my earlier bank statements was built into the mortgage payments ,
Please any help or advice before I contact either pinnacle or northern rock (NRAM) thanks again ....

What makes you think it doesnt apply?
If you didnt want it any more, why didnt you cancel it?

No. Many people carry their insurance from one lender to the next. A lender has no right to cancel insurance.

If you have evidence to support that then its a strong complaint. Without evidence it is an easy rejection (on that point in isolation).

Hello , thanks for replys , some are common sense ,paying for something etc, I do have a life policy with legal and general which low and behold is on a shared document with pinnacle/cardiff a document dated 2004 saying payment protection plan from pinnacle insurance ,I remember now being told that Northern rock used Legal and general for life insurance and pinnacle was a sickness plan , i also have another dated 2006 for a paysafe scheme , I have since found the NRAM site that actually gives a phone number for ppi claims , I definatly remember being told that pinnacle was tied in with mortgage , i have ported my northern rock mortgage when moved house and pinnacle stayed on new mortgage , I suspect that the documents I have all have policy numbers on , so will see what they say . Just hope I dont get fobbed off if I genuinely have a case ???

I have yet to see anything that suggests any wrong doing. That is your problem at the moment.

You don't appear to have a "case" or any idea where to look for mis-selling reasons.
Nothing you have detailed indicates any mis-selling..it's not wrong to have a PPI policy or policies. In addition, it's your own responsibility to cancel any insurance which no longer applies to you.
