I've double checked phone no. it is false, and I guess the address is as well.
I had left comments warning people about him in his feedback. His response to that was to go private. So now I can't get his iD No. to report him for false add. Tel No. Any suggestions?0 -
OP do you actually have an address for your buyer from the paypal payment? I.e did they make the payment as per usual through ebay checkout?
Unless they got your email address and sent a direct payment, selected "service" as what the payment was for and witheld their address, you should have a paypal address.
If you do have the paypal address does it match the ebay address and our the names the same?
Also if you do have a paypal address does it show as confirmed?
There's a variety of ways this scam can be implemented depends how smart your scamster is as to how far he has covered his tracks.
Not gonna post on here the tricks to implement this scam perfectly for obvious reasons.
But if you post the answers to the above we can work out what he's done and take it from there.0 -
Sorry took a while to respond, been in touch with 7 other sellers that have dealt with him. They've all got a simillar tale to tell. i was the only one to fall for the paypal collection routine he pulled tho. i think its filtering through to him I'm interfering, he just given me a bad feedback rating. Saying that all 300 sims envelopes were empty. Thats a good one
He didn't pay through ebay checkout, I should have sussed that one out.
I've put in a false contact complaint to e-bay.
Not sure if there is anything more I can do.
One of the other sellers has given me his mobile no. Haven't dared phone yet, too wound up.0 -
Check the ebay address (invoice) against paypal address. Do they check out? If so you might at least have a valid address. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I've checked in paypal, it says no address provided0

Don't suppose you kept the sim details (which you should do and a note of whom you sold them too with address etc in case the sims are used for fraud or in the case of another MSE'er to cause harrassment to an Ex which resulted in the police turning up on their doorstep asking questions. The seller could provide details of who bought the cards from him but at the moment YOUR details are what is against the cards even though they are free... - Big brother is alive and well)
If you have the SIM details you can contact the providers and have every single one closed down rendering them useless to him.Small victory if nothing else... It MIGHT even be that they lck the phone the "stolen" SIM is inserted in...

I've checked in paypal, it says no address provided
Well then they've got your email address and sent a direct payment (rather than doing a ebay checkout), selected "service" as what the payment was for and witheld their address or selected "goods" and then no postage adresss required.
In which case someone correct me if I am wrong but paypal do not provide any buyer protection for non tangible goods i.e those that don't require a postage address.
So phone paypal and tell them you never posted your buyer anything as no postage was required which will be backed up by the format of the payment you recieved.
Seems your scamster isn't to clever because this isn't the way this scam works.0 -
I'll try that. Thanks0

These sort of scum bags really wind me up....out for what they can get.
I would report it to the Police .
I’m annoyed that Ebay & Paypal let these people have accounts and let them continue to rip people off.
Im had someone con me out of £500 and Paypal are just useless....tried emailing the person and he will not respond and i found out his address is fake
Paypal will not even give me the correct address the person joined them with .....how great are they....surely this can all be tracked to someones bank account and they could put a stop to it?0
