Vent-cold call from National Moneysavers

There has previously been a thread on here about this company but it appears to be closed now.
Just had a cold call from this company tonight. When I asked where he got my info from he said I must have filled in a survey or forgotten to click an opt out on a form (I'm usually really good at opting out of all these things and never do surveys). Straight away I asked him to remove my details and he said 'I could possibly ask my manager at the end of the survey if I could remove my details but not before' I then told the guy I was on TPS and shouldn't be getting calls like that in the first place, i also said if i asked for my details to be removed he was supposed to do it and then he said he was allowed to call me because it was just for marketing and it was down to his manager if he would remove my details. I asked again for him to remove my details and then he proceeded to talk over me and hung up.
These time wasters call themselves National Moneysavers. The number they used to call me is 01923 288995. There appears to be lots of complaints about them on the Internet but this is the first time they've called me, unless they use other names?
Reported to TPS but doubt I will get anywhere.

Just hang up on them, the TPS (Totally Pointless Service) is a toothless PR exercise whom have literally done nothing to those whom are reported to it.
Putting your details on there just adds you to another database to be bought/sold by the scum companies that cold-call, saying you're ex-directory/TPS registered etc.. does diddly-squat as these companies know the TPS is a joke in it's current form, so you're wasting your breath.0 -
I know, just so fed up with these companies like this calling me.
Thanks for replying to my thread though.0 -
After complaining to "McDowall Media" who run Uk national money savers I have today recieved an email confirming that our details have been removed from their database. Took a month or so to happen and 2 emails but got there in the end. Go onto their website (McDowall media) and copy and paste their own privacy statement onto the contact us box and go from there. These people are the most annoying of all the cold callers we had and now i've got rid of them might start taking details from the rest - good luck!0
