Stressed about Mortgage Offer

We received our Mortgage offer from the Halifax recently. We should be happy, but I just found out that I forgot to make on time a payment for a mobile contract I have with 3.

I took this out years ago on behalf of my student brother who usually always pays it on time but was ill in bed last month and forgot. I don't blame him as I should have made sure that it was covered. The payment was made 13 days late but isn't showing on my credit file yet.

However, I've been told that Halifax will probably run another credit check before they release the funds. I expect the late payment should appear next month on my file. Is a late payment of £16 likely to impact on my credit score and in turn make the Halifax withdraw the offer?

Everyone keeps telling me that I'm being silly, but I've read some horror stories on the web on how lenders renege on offers. Nothing else about our situation has changed. Really could do with some advice.

Not sure if it will have any impact I'm afraid.

Direct debits are a wonderful thing and eliminate the chance of missed payments in future.
