Dell 19" LCD Set Up..Help Please!

Fleeting_Glimpse

I have a new Dell 19" LCD monitor (not ultra sharp) and am struggling to get a decent image out of it. I've try'd fiddling with the contrast etc but the images all seem 'washed out'.

Has anybody got one of these and what settings do you have it at?

Cheers

Have you set the PC to the screens native resolution?

If it is washed out, try turning the brightness down, and contrast up.

This may also be of use if you have XP

Thanks for the reply.

Yes its set to its full res & 65mhz refresh...it can go to 75mhz refresh...is it worth doing that also?

Anyway...I've messed about with the Intel video card settings and its loads better.

Turned the contrast up on that and the gamma setting (whatever that is) up to 1.3.

My pics now look about as punchy as they did on the old CRT plus a lot sharper and detailed.

If it goes up to 75, yes, but always do the test, if you set it too high for the monitor, then the only way to get the display back is to use safe mode.
