faulty induction hob

I bought a Bosch induction hob in september 2010 secondhand on ebay. According to Bosch it was manufactured in October 2007. Recently it stopped working on the left hand side and looks like costing an arm and a leg to fix. Bosch quote £90 call out charge for an engineer plus parts which could easily be in excess of £200. do I have any recourse onder the sale of goods act or anything similar or will I have to bite the bullet and fork out for a new hob.

You've had an answer from the manufacturer. What does the seller say? SOGA says UP TO six (five in Scotland) years is reasonable. Bite the bullet time.0
