Holiday limitations at work

Hi,
I have worked for a company for around 10 months and am looking to book a holiday but on the work calendar they have certain days when it's busy that you cannot book off, is it legal to give you these kind of limitations to when you are allowed to book your holidays?
And what would be my best course of action? I don't want to stir the pot to much because I'm pretty sure within a year they can sack you quite easily.
Cheers

As long as they give you reasonable opportunity to take it, then there is nothing unlawful about blocking out availability at peak times.
They can dismiss you pretty easily within two years.0 -
If the company wish then they can choose when you take your hols.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Have you had any holidays in the last 10 months? When does your holiday year run from-to?Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

If you worked as a Santa Claus, would you think it unfair to be told you can't have December off?
as others have said, it's quite normal and widespread0 -

No holidays in the last 10 months and they run from April to April so I lost my holiday days for the previous year.
Ok I just wanted to find out all the details before I questioned anybody.0 -
I'm not allowed any annual leave between the 15th December and 15th January every year.
Also need to give at least one months notice of any holiday request, manager has to sign this off before holidays official etc.
So I'd say putting restrictions on holiday is fairly normal.0 -

Do you need to qualify for a year?
I didn't think that sort of thing went on anymore??
I would have thought they should have given you 10/12 ths of last year's allocation0 -

Only restriction we ever had was only two can have the same day's, but like others have said they can choose when you take your holiday days as long as you have them.0
