Window Frame Removal -Sofa

Bought a corner sofa from SCS and measured it and all
the only thing I didn't take into account is the fact my hallway is small and doesn't leave any room to manouvre the suite in.
We seperated the suite into two pieces and managed to get the smaller piece in the room! However, the longer piece of the suite will not fit as you can't move it to get through the door (it is higher than the door frame).
We called a window fitter and he said that we would have to remove the window and the window frame to get the sofa into the living room! He said it was really expensive and would be better off buying a whole new suite!!
Can any one tell me how much it would cost roughly? The window guy was so vague and said "a lot"!!
I have phoned scs and been told that the suite was built to order and we cannot take it back even if we cannot use it!!
Any help, suggestions or ideas would be really helpful, because at the moment we have a suite we cannot use

Depends on the window - we got a 1st floor 1.5m square UPVC window removed and replaced for £70 - for an extra £10 each they even lifted the sofa from the driveway in through the window.
After the second time of doing this we replaced the window with a large tilt/turn unit that avoided any future issues0 -
It's half a days work for a half decent joiner! Phone a few joiners and offer them it as a cashier:eek:Living frugally at 24

Are your windows PVC or wood framed?
What are the dimensions of the window?
Lastly, can you take some of the staples out of the bottom of the sofa to see if it is just bolted together? Many chain-store/DFS/SCS sofas can be unbolted into three pieces.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
