    Do you need a passport?
Do you have a photo driving licence that could be used instead.

Are there any more 1p flights available for your trip? If so, just re-book and don't worry.

Good point, I'd not thought of that.

why not ring passport office and see how they could change your name on passport. I think when i had to change my name i just had to go to passport office with marriage certificate. I think they just wrote name new name on passport and stamped it.

That must have been a long time ago! Now, the charge for a name change is the same as for a new passport. Not worth it for a 1 penny flight, that's for sure!

Thast just the problem I m not a newlywed!!!! I just refuse to pay 66 £ for a name change when my current passport is valid until 2012. i m not stingy or anything!!

I do have a photo driving licence and I will be using it as part of my ID but always like my passport with me too.

I have booked flights for a daytrip to Dublin with Ryanair. One of the party doesn't have a passport and only a PROVISIONAL driving licence. Does anyone know if this is an acceptable form of ID?

    Thanks in advance

    From ryanairs website

A valid driving licence with photo is ONLY acceptable photo ID for travel on domestic flights within the UK and domestic flights within the Republic of Ireland.

To be just safe i would phone them and check 0871 246 0000 (10p per minute)

Check the say no to 0870 website they maybe have another line

Not with Ryanair it won't be. They will stick to the letter of their T&C. Anyone else and you'd stand a chance.

Use your photocard DL as suggested.
