My DD said I could get my DGS a portable DVD player for his 2nd birthday.
Do I get the Phillips one from argos or is there something better?

A decent battery life is top priority & it would be nice if it could be used on car headrests or like a laptop - or is it one or the other for styling? I know nothing about them! Will be used to play Disney DVDs.

reviews in amazon seem decent (average 4/5) and the argos price seems good.

I can't help thinking that this would be better left until he's older - 2 seems very young for a DVD player. When my kids were little we sang, played word games and talked on long journeys...

As me and my sister did to, but I plan on buying my DS an Ipad (or something similar when hes older) as soon as I feel he is ready as times have changed!! :o

But tbh it sounds nice when you say it like that but although we did play car games etc I do remember being extremly bored on long car rides...and we did alot of them.

    Are we nearly thier yet?!?

The argos one comes with a mains and car charger so battery life isnt really an issue.
you might find it comes with its own case/bag with loops or straps to let you hang it on the back of the front seat in the car. if not you can buy one separately to do the job.

Once in a blue moon she will want to use it on a plane, some of them only have a 2-3 hour battery life!

Just download/rip stuff to your iPad/tablet.

(DD has Wall-E, Toy Story and Finding Nemo on mine, plus lots of Cbeebies cartoons. I won't let her watch the old Disney films - far too racist and sexist for today's world. ;))
