CTF for children born berfore 2002?

Can you set up a Child's Trust Fund for children born before 2002?

My children are 11 & 13 and I am interested in setting up some form of a CTF for them. Is this possible? I know I won't get the government contribution, but can a CTF be set up for me to regularly pay into and for them to access when they are 18? I'd probably aim for a share based rather than a savings based one, or is it possible to have a mixture of both?

You can use investment trusts and unit trusts but not a CTF based product.

Unit Trusts in your name re: child name would be how you would set them up.
