    Hi all,

Thank you all for replying so quickly to my question.

Unfortunately the old laptop got a virus, so I dont want to risk transfering it to the new laptop by copying the iTunes library from there. Thats why I want to copy it from my iPhone.

iTunes will copy purchased songs from my iPhone to the new laptop, but its not copying the apps, the photos, the e-books, podcast links, movies or TV programs - even though most of them I purchased from either the iTunes website or through the app on the iPhone itself.

Seems all it wants to accept are the singles and albums Ive purchased from the website or bought via the app.

Each time I try to sync, a pop up screen asks if I want to 'replace' my iPhone library with the laptop library. As there is practically nothing in the laptop library Im reluctant to say 'yes'

I hope that explains it a bit better for you all

You must be made of money. Why on earth do you need to buy a new laptop because of a virus?

    Disconnect laptop from internet.

Copy iTunes library from laptop onto flash drive/CD/DVD.

Scan disk before copying iTunes library onto PC.

    Copy iTunes library.

    Done!

Music files are not executable and you won't run them, so there's little to no chance of transferring the virus over.

Very unlikely but scan the disk before you copy any data from it just in case.
