Nook help needed please!

Hi, hopefully someone can help me on here!
Hubby has a Kindle, and I sometimes borrow that, so am used to putting books on it, but when he works away (which is frequent), I lose out on my reading time, as he takes the Kindle with him!For that reason (along with the decent reviews, and new lower price!)I've treated myself to a Nook e-reader.
We have a disc with a few books on it, that I have used to put books onto Hubby's Kindle - a matter of creating a new folder - book title/author, then copy and pasting said book across from disc to Kindle.
I've attempted to do this with my Nook Simple Touch, and can see the book stored on there when looking into it via the pc, but am unable to find it in my Nook's Library!
Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong please? Hubby's away agian, and I'm itching to properly use my new toy!
TIA

Kindle uses .azw, all other e-book readers use ePub. They're not interchangeable, as Kindles have their own proprietary format, and don't support ePub.
    From the B&N site:

EPUB & PagePerfect™ NOOK Books are the standard format for NOOK Books in the Barnes & Noble online store. NOOK Tablet supports ePub, CBZ and PDF formatted books.

Have a look at the nook thread on the grabbit forum. There's a post on there (think it's no 262) that tells you how to (unofficially) convert books for the nook from Amazon. You need to download Calibre then add a plug in to convert anything that's DRM'd.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Which would technically be a breach of copyright, as the Kindle licence won't presumably cover use on another non-Kindle device? Or vice-versa.

Did just this today on a Nook Simple Touch, older versions of Kindle app can be installed on a rooted Nook.

I was given a kindle for Christmas didn't get it until I came home from holiday late January. Not used it for a good no of weeks and when I brought it out last night I had a small area of light showing through on to the page. Very distracting so I called Amazon. Without any question she said we will send you out a new one. It has now been dispatched, The one to return I can do this in the town centre to 2 different places. Just need to wrap it up and I have the box etc.
Very impressed with Amazon as I returned a Epson printer I bought last week was not happy with it, Again just emailed me the labels to send back Called Tuesday picked up Wednesday. The money is back on my account (part of the payment was from a gift voucher I had) The rest will be back on my card in the next week or so. I bought a book last night and I see it is deducted from the Voucher. First time had to send anything back bought from Amazon Impressed!
