ANd credit cards too but some are more strict than others
I went into branch to get some documents certified to open a saving account in october and I was signed up for a student CC (at Lloyds)- the irony!:p0 -

She has a TSB LLoyds basic account with debit card. Can I be cheeky and ask if their student account is any good? She doesn't have any DD's yet as she has a giffgaff PAYG card thing and she has her credit card set up to pay minimim payment, then she can top up if she's used it. IYKWIM.
Can she only have 1 student account for her loan/grant etc? We will be moving money over for her monthly as will other family members.
She is baffled by it all and has asked me to help which I don't mind, but don't know much about student accounts other than they offer interest free OD's which may come in handy, but she is good with her money.
Also, her 1st rent payment is due the end Aug/begin Sept, so I highly doubt her loan etc will be there by then, so we'll sub her.
She needs a student account ASAP as student loans need to know where to pay the money into? All help appreciated.
Thanks

My personal experience has been good with Lloyds (so far!)
I opened my under 19 account with them in April 2012, then I opened student account in August and they gave me a 500 overdraft immediately.I then I got a CC from them in October as I mentioned earlier.
They raised my OD to 1000 pounds last month- no questions asked!
I'll be raising it to 1500 next month.
I guess you could try HSBC or Halifax to get 'up to' 3000 OD but I hear it can be hard to get the top rate!0 -
£1000 Flybe 25%'ish
