Virgin credit cards are run by MBNA. I applied and got rejected, appealed it and escalated that and they sent me a letter from someone high up (apparently) which seemed very personalised.
They understand my frustration etc etc, but do not offer any of their cards to anybody not in Full Time employment. Once I leave education for good, I'm welcome to reapply etc. If that is indeed true (my credit was fairly decent back then - no debt, long history of payments) I can't see the OP getting very far until the degree ends (assuming they're a student at uni? Rather than college)
But they don't say that on the application I bet !0
