I am looking for 6 month coverage only for life and CI. Anyone know of any companies?

That would be a no then from all mainstream providers

Why not take out a 5 year policy and cancel it after 6 months?0

because when they disclose the fact that they will be leaving the uk in the next 6-months the application will be declined.
There is one provider who will potentially cover non-UK residents, provided they return to the UK from time to time, pay from a UK bank account and don't intend to permanently intend to leave the UK. Whether this is relevant to the OP, who knows?0 -
