Philips BDP 7500 Bluray player refuses to play Fringe Season 3 Disc 1

Hi all,

I have Philips BDP 7500 blu ray player which I purchased 2 years ago---works great however recently tried to watch Fringe TV series blu ray season 3 box set--when trying to load disc 1 it starts to load disc then screen remains black--have loaded discs 2-4 and these load fine--have watched box sets 1 and 2 and these fine too.

I purchased a duplicate season 3 box set and the problem still the same--I have been on to Philips website and loaded latest firmware v1.10--but still problem remains---has there been a problem with the discs or is it the player?

Any body have any solutions?

Thanks.

Do you have access to another Bluray player to try them on ?. This would at least eliminate whether or not the player is at fault.

strange one you sure your fringe is a legit set and not someone selling you ripped copy, i would suggest trying in another bluray player to prove disc is ok secondly send back to supplier you bought fringe from and get from somewhere else completely.
the only other thing can think of is disc is of high capacity than your machine can handle which if so maybe time for new machine. if you got a blu ray drive in pc stick in see what it holding there.
read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu_ray look at physical media maybe you got hi cap disc? how much episodes is listed on disc 1 compared to other discs?

    Hi thanks for response----

    UPDATE

Tried discs on my mums cheap supermarket brand player---guess what?

All play fine--returned to mine and still refuses to load disc 1 but will accept discs 2-4.

Rang Philips and they have taken the barcode number for the box set and gave me a reference number and said they will investigate---fingers crossed
