Internet Explorer looks different! Help!

Noticed today that when I go to IE, it looks different and the top bar does not show any more. It does reapper when I put my mouse pointer up at the top of the screen. Google search box has gone too. Favourites now accessed at right top corner and not left as before.
I then noticed that it seems to now be IE 10 which I am pretty surre I did not install voluntarily.
I went to the START button and typed Programmes and Features - view installed updates - found IE 10 in the Windows intalled updates. Uninstalled it and restarted.
BUT my IE still appears to be the same. Much more black screen shwing and the top bar not fixed and visibale. Also cannot seem to add a Google search box to it?
Under Programmes and Features IE now shows as IE9 installed 7/5/2013
Can anyone help me please? Hate the look and feel of what has happened to my IE interface.
Very confused
PS Running on Windows 7

Could you not just try and get used to the new interface? The latest browsers are faster and more secure.
Sorry if that's not the answer you were hoping for. What will your verse be?

Press F11 - does the address bar show?
Exit then restart.

Right click on the top bar and you can select what you want to display there."Some folks are wise and some are otherwise." - Tobias Smollett0
