PPI sickness or a mis-sold reclaim?

Hi, I have absolutely no idea where to start, apart from with the letter I recieved today from Canada Square Operations (formally Egg Banking). There was a covering letter and a form to complete with regards to reviewing the sale of PPI with my credit card.
This got me thinking about that and other debts, all of which are with debt collection agencies now due to financial difficulties when I became sick and had to give up work.
Obviously here is my dilemma. In theory the loans I took out should have been fully paid off by now, but due to paying a small payment each month are not. This got me thinking about PPI claims for sickness and disability. Are they only valid for the original term of the loan or would they still be valid now? The only reason I had the PPI was due to being told that it was one of the terms and conditions of getting the loan, so yes it's been mis-sold, but could I make use of it now or have I only got the usual reclaim PPI case?
I'd really appreciate some help.

Once your loans went to collection agencies your insurance policies became null and void.
In addition, if you make PPI complaints about finance you reneged upon , the lender is entitled to off set any redress awarded against monies you still owe or have had written off.0 -
Thank you for your reply. I have no problem wth the money being used to clear off some of the debt, should I be entitled to any. I'm just trying to work out the best way to go about things. I thought that would be the case in terms of the insurance becoming void but wanted to double check with others.0
