Advice please refunding a buyer

Hi

I'm looking to refund a buyer but not sure how to go about it. They paid through paypal and I have already been charged by ebay for the selling fees.

I thought I would need to open a case but it states I need to refund via paypal before hand, is this correct?

You can log into Paypal, go to the transaction and half way down, hit the refund button. Then ebay message the buyer, saying you have refunded. Ask them if the would agree to cancelling the transaction. Explain it has no impact on the sale history and it is merely to allow you to recoup your seller fees. Then when they agree, go to the resolution centre in ebay and use the "I want to cancel" button.
