Express selling companies

I've been looking at companies that claim to be able to sell your house super quick but for a drop in price (between 85-95%) market value.

Does anyone have any info on these companies please and which ones are respectable and similarly which ones to avoid?

I've googled for reviews but can't find anything of any use. The one I've seen is called expre$$homesales and I want to know if anyone has had a good or bad experience before I go any further, thank you :)

Sorry, I don't have experience of using these companies but have made enquiries about an inherited property in the past. What you may think is the 'market value' isn't necessarily what they think it is.
  • Having viewed a property listed with the Express Estate Agents, I understand they do charge higher fees but do sell a house quicker. Then again, that does come at a price to the seller.

I know that they have been investigated by the Advertising Standards Authority recently for false advertising - if you google this, some articles should come up.
  • Thank you will google that now, my instincts are telling me to stay well away but thought I would ask anyway. I kind of know what the property is valued at as I've looked at similar houses that have sold and I had it valued 2 or 3 years ago (there hasn't been much change in the market where the house is) ...i'm sure i remembered reading a story a few years back about someone selling their house this way and then half way through the buyer wanted to lower the price and the seller had to agree for some reason or another (memory is hazy of it but I think it didn't end too well for seller as they lost money) but as I say this was a few years ago and I wondered if these companies had a better reputation by now. Perhaps not! :)

A friend sold his house with right home sales. Got 85% of the lowest valuation from estate agent.

The Express Estate Agency seems to have quite a share of this market, at least in the South and in Wales.

Having read many of their adverts, I struggle to understand why people go with them, as they often contain the barest details and some of their photography is dire. They flag up the sellers who are desperate to sell, which isn't necessarily a great bargaining strategy either.

Far better IMO to use a regular agent and market at an attractive price, with none of the "offers over," which is where the Express Agency start. Again, not a great strategy. ;)
