My daughter is using my laptop for college and I want it back.
She has a netbook but its not really enough, especially as she is using excel for accounts.
She would like a device which has a screen about 9.5 x 7.5 inches with a keyboard. She doesnt fancy a tablet. In her flatshare there is a couple of netbooks and a couple of tablets and not much more than facebook is done on them.
What can she get? Dont mind a refurb (my laptop is and never had a problem). Was looking at the groupon deal but is that inviting trouble?

Groupon thing looks good, but then they all look good and you are right to assume trouble will follow shortly!0

what's wrong with the netbook she has!!

The net book is a tiny wee thing she bought and no good for her accounting homework. Probably due to the size of it but actually I dont really remember what casued her to walk off with mine. Mine is too heavy for her to carry about and, well, its mine. Hers is size of a paperback.0

Indeed it seems a good idea to upgrade her existing Netbook(Is it a proper Netbook or one of those sill Android things?) and perhaps supplement it with a proper laptop.
A couple here: Budget: Toshiba C850-19Z £213.98 or Toshiba Satellite C855-1GR(Red) £229.99
Forget about the Groupon ASUS. It's old news.0 -
Take a look at SaveOnLaptops and other laptop specialist sites as they will give you really good deals on laptops, netbooks and tablets. That being said I don't really see anything wrong with the groupon offer you have already shown0

If she wants something slim and a bit lighter, take a look a this ACER Aspire V5-431 for £233.98 Has a 15.6" screen.

Cheaper here with a 14" screen, after cashback, if you don't mind colours. So in between an Ultrabook and a laptop.0 -
That asus is another slow laptop to me. I suggest you spend a bit more to get a decent CPU.
I suggest you consider Acer V5-171, if you can afford it.

Honestly, when working with excel, I personally perfer a larger screen.0 -

It's not bad, but don't rush in. It has poor battery life for an 'ultraportable'.
Decent specs other than that.0
