Provided your broker has what is necessary, these are faxed to Halifax and normally confirmed within 24 hours. Once these are back and the valuation ok, it's ready for offer.
You are so right.
Our mortgage broker has just forwarded me a soft copy of the mortgage offer. :j0 -

A new search came on today
Searched on: 07/05/2013
Amount: £112,500
Term: 025 months
Searched By: HALIFAX MORTGAGES
Application Type: Unrecorded Enquiry
Entry Number: P3
So thats 2 from them now0 -
I think that's okay. I'm sure I saw at least 4 of these searches on my report and also my partner has the same.0

Can I just ask, are these Unrecorded Enquiries the only searches by Halifax you have on your files and you have your offer???
Asking as I am in the same situation and keep doubting my poor MB, he has assured me that Halifax have fully credit checked and offer is subject to vaulation0 -
I'm not 100% sure about this, but every time we alter something on a Halifax case, it goes through a "decision" process each time, which may trigger another soft-search.
TBH their system with its incessant demands for "requotes" is a PITA.

From my Experian credit report I have the following:
AIP stage:
2 Mortgage Quotations by Bank of Scotland
Full Application stage:
3 Mortgage Quotations by Bank of Scotland and 1 Unrecorded Enquiry by HALIFAX MORTGAGES
Date of mortgage offer:
1 Unrecorded Enquiry by HALIFAX MORTGAGES
Random audit (how unlucky are we?! lol)
2 Mortgage Quotations by Bank of Scotland
I'm no expert but my guess is that the software used by these guys can decide what to do with a mortgage application without leaving a hard print on your credit report. This is really good and it benefits both Halifax and Experian (I believe they worked on the credit expert product). if you think about it, the less information you need from the Experian database the faster the information retrieval meaning faster processing times for Halifax which means more business for them!
Good luck! and let us know how it goes

Yes, that's how it was back in the day when I was at the Halifax.
The worst thing was if the requote took the application from a 'pass' to a 'fail'. That was a real PITA for everyone concernedEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Thank you, so far mine is exactly the same as you re searches, so fingers crossed. We have our valuation on Monday and its a new build.
It's just my luck that we will get audited too lol.
It's so hard that they all have different systems and ways of doing things, like you say though if that is how they do it then it does make sense.
I bet my MB can't wait for us to exchange (if we get that far)!0 -
