...I have to have a rant, which will be really negative, but I need to get this out otherwise I will explode !
Just had feedback for an interview I had last week, and what a surprise, its a no !
Basically, they thought I would get bored and leave in a year or so.....and the reason I would want the job is that it is local.
What they don't realise is that because I work 30 miles away from home.....- I've not been to the gym in too long
- I have no social life
- I am so unhappy at the mo
- I can't continue to commute and go to college
- I am fed up with paying £300 to get to work per month
- I am fed up with spending 15 hours commuting per week
People say to be positive and that the cosmos will provide me the ideal opportunity when I need it, but come on cosmos pull your finger out !
Anyhow, I need to study hard for tomorrow's exam, and hopefully pass it, which means 2 more exams til I am AAT L3 qualified.
Rant over, thanks for listening !

How utterly frustrating Candy. Rant away. Is it likely that another local job will come up or is it a small area with few local roles?" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hi, I am lucky to live in part of North Hampshire which has 2 large towns nearby. Hometown has a number of large companies and its natural that people change roles etc so jobs should come up - I am looking at Purchase Ledger or Accounts Assistant roles and have registered with a number of agencies who cover the areas I want to work in.
I just need to bide my time and I have given myself until August to get something or I may give up and go temping

Well then I guess it is a numbers game, keep applying, keep hanging in there. And as for the feedback you were given, that is not to say another employer will think the same thing. Hang in there Candy. As I have learnt from setting up my own business, sometimes you just have to hang in there, and then keep hanging in there. Which is harder than saying it. :rotfl:Im a firm believer that throw enough mud and something will stick." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

@Bobarella: Yes, I agree with you about food waste. Other bad ones are apparently lettuces & bags of apples & potatoes. Such stupid ones, these, as you can tell sooooooo easily from things like apples & potatoes if they are no longer edible. I think we've become infantilised & deskilled by the supermarkets. I know I always cook everything from scratch, but sometimes in the supermarket, I can't believe what you can buy ready prepared......mash, carrots pre-cut into little batons, exotic fruit peeled & cut into cubes, frozen roast potatoes, you name it! Silly best before dates is another thing. People just used to use their sense of smell & go by their common sense of what the item looked like. Not so long ago, when I was in the local Co-op, There was a big bag of apples knocked down to £1 because they were on the 'last date'. They looked fine, so I bought them, & I was still eating them not one week, but TWO weeks later & they were not so much as wrinkly. if I'd had those apples at home already & was one of those people that go by best before dates, that bag of perfectly good apples would have gone to landfill! Re the free book I posted about, I don't know if it'll be available for sale or not, as there isn't a price on it. It looks like it may be something produced to be a giveaway. It's nicely produced though, not just a leaflety one. Food waste rant over......off to chop the veggies to go in the stroganoff now (using rubber pork - yay!!) & to make mr f's pack-up for tomorrow (more rubber pork, lol....)

So didn't get to do a couple of things for me today due to having *issues* to deal with ref childcare, can't even be bothered to talk about it. So unhappy with them right now and all stressed out about it. OH is trying to help but comments like "I'm sure it'll all come good soon enough" don't help - things only "come good" when I make them "come good", and for me to make them "come good" it requires a lot of time and energy, two things I simply don't have right now. Aggghhhh!!!:eek::eek:Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!0 -
