Over my limit ?

Is trying to go over your cc limit treated the same as if you actually go over it ?
I pay my cc off in full every month.Last week I went to the bank and did a credit transfer - which would pay off my balance in full
Yesterday I went to Tesco and tried to use my card,it was rejected. It seems that my credit transfer was delayed because of the bank holiday So today my balance will be payed off in full - but yesterday I had a transaction rejected becuase it would have slightly gone over my limit.
So the question is will it be treated the same as if I had actually gone over my limit, will it be shown as an adverse marker now on my credit history ?

No, if a payment is rejected then it didn't happen. There will be no record of this on your credit file.0

Thanks, that`s a relief. I will have to be more careful in the future, give it extra time to go through.0 -
I wouldn't be worried about a marker on your credit file that shows going over the CC limit - there are far worse things that would affect your ability to get credit.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0

I'm surprised they rejected it. Lucky escape that. Not enforcing the limit and then collecting the fee is lucrative business."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0
