Oh no I think the bride is embarrassed! I get the impression the MIL has refused to uninvite them so its up to the bride (future husband doesn't have much of a spine...) and she just can't rustle up the courage to do it!

I must admit I'd be having similar issues! Lol

Well, if she won't clear up her own mess, the bride could do it quite easily, simple letter will suffice :)

    Dear X,

Regrettably I had no business inviting you to the wedding of A and B. Due to limited numbers, it's necessary to rescind your invitation.

Sorry for messing you around, all my fault.

    Mrs MIL

    Sorted ;)

I would be like a lunatic if my MIL invited who she liked to our wedding. She hasn't even made conversation about the wedding for over a year and now we only have just under 11 months to go. I'm not making conversation with her about it either it's non of her business.

Idio...I can see one problem with your suggested letter...

The recipients will probably not understand the meaning of the term "recind"...and take it to mean that they now have a further option to invite not only themselves but the rest of their families...afterall you've taken the trouble to fomally write to them therefore thats an invite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steph...11 months is plenty of time....my mother in law was still inviting people to the evening reception 3 days before the wedding.."just to make sure there was a good turnout" or so she claimed!

I would seriously flip out I would turn into bridezilla big style! I don't care if no one turns up as long as we get married and have a nice day :)

Me and H2B do pyrotechnics at the weekend so we're trying to organise some fireworks for the evening. When we told MIL about it she said "So you expect everyone to come outside for some poxy fireworks" we're getting married in April not December!

I don't think she's uninvited them out of pure embarrassment. I'm pretty sure she's just made room but the MIL is pretty much blacklisted...

    I'd move the wedding. :)
