Im getting sick and tired of insurance companies.
I have had no correspondence from my insurer (elephant). No email, no letter or text or phone call. I didn't even know they had deducted money from my account, because it was from a credit-card i no longer have but didn't cancel the account because i am a moron.
Anyway, they have renewed my policy, and I don't even need it. I am moving to America in 2 months so a 12 month policy is unnecessary. I just spent the best part of a year paying off my debts and now they've dropped a cool thousand into my credit card and i am unbelievably frustrated.
I can't call because everyone in the country is slacking off, being a bank holiday. I will call in the morning.
Will they refund me my money, or will they most likely charge me for cancelling a policy, even though i received nothing from them? It seems ridiculous to me that they can just drop debt on you without even emailing or writing to you. It's f**king pathetic actually. Where do i stand?
Thanks
Adam

Do you still have the vehicle?
If so did you arrange cover with another company?0 -
I did, and i know what you're going to say. Why didn't i cancel my cover with elephant?
Answer: I am a dumbass, i completely forgot (due to the fact i received no email/letter) that the policy would just roll on. Plus, i haven't noticed because it didn't show on my statement.Debts:

Well, ask them to cancel and give them evidence of your new cover.
Has your new insurer asked for proof of NCB?0 -
Yes, which is how i found out i still have cover.
I am assuming they will charge me for the days that the cover has been active, and a charge for cancelling?
thanks.Debts:
