I know it might seem obvious but be friendly. I am much more likely to buy something off somebody I like. Banter is your friend and be realistic with prices.Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.0

make sure you take lots of fifty p pieces and small change after all what ever you get for what you sell is profit so if its not over priced you will sell-out You don't want to take things home with you0

I like the idea of making bunting and I thought of doing likewise when I do a bootie. How about padded hearts?Lucylema x :j0

Be careful not to land yourself with some HMRC self-employment paperwork if you are selling items other than your own unwanted household possessions at a car boot sale.
"You are trading if you:- sell goods you have bought for resale
- make items yourself and sell them, intending to make a profit
- sell (or buy) goods on behalf of others for financial gain (for example on commission)
- provide a service and receive payment (whether in cash or in kind).

Lots of carrier bags and small change. Watch out when you get there too. Empty boxes in the boot and only one at a time, I've had people stealing before now. Dealers are always in there too, just tell them to go away and come back later.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Check with local Council first. You may need to have liability insurance, a food hygiene cert and inspection of your cooking premises, plus meet labelling requirements.cherrycake wrote: »Cakes, biscuits, scones? all pre-bagged?
People running the boot sale may place their own additional restrictions on food sellers.0 -
Draught excluders. Door stops.
Is it just things you want to sew or are you crafty in other ways like hand made cards or bird boxes out of scrap wood. Painted pebbles maybe. Have a look on etsy for ideas.0
