Honeymoon in Egypt beach resort

Hi everyone wanted to know what people recommend as the best beach resort (El gouna, Taba, Hurghada or Sharm el sheikh) place to go for honeymoon. Most importantly would be the hotel staying in.
Looking for a beautiful quiet hotel and a lovely beach. With a lot of pampering and fun activates to do like swimming, snorkelling.:j
I will already be in Cairo, so will take an internal flight to the beach resort. Dates going would be 27 July for 12 days.
Been looking around and thinking of The Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh Hotel Hurghada. What you think?
Thanks in advance :T

Taba gets my vote, it's a very quiet resort, the hotel that I love there is the Hyatt but they are all great, check out tripadvisor for more info0

I have been to both Hurghada and Taba. Out of the two, I would chose Taba again. It is a new resort and ALL of the hotels are lovely. We stayed at the Marriott and loved it.
Beaches are relatively unspoilt. There is a dive centre located in Taba that does boat trips etc. They do fantastic calamari too!!!!!!!!
I did a review on Review Centre on Taba & the Marriott.
In my opinion - dont go for anything less than a 5* in Egypt.
We did a day trip to Petra (Jordan) and it was fabulous. "Never save something for a special occasion. Every day in your life is a special occasion". _party_0 -
Thanks for the replies guys, Will tell my fiancée to thank the members of moneysaving expert for the wonderful honeymoon:T
Thinking of going with Hyatt at Taba now. Saw a lot of good reviews on it.
Planning to stay for two weeks, do you think that will be too long to be in the same place. I really love Egyptian culture. I am worried that it might be too isolated so will get bored after a week.
Also I would really love to have a private Jacuzzi in the hotel room. Does anyone know if Hyatt or any of the other hotels have one? Will probably go for it for the first few nights then go for a normal room.

I think it depends on what you want to do on your honeymoon. We have been for 10 days and for probably half of those days have been out on excursions.
Sorry, dont know about jacuzzi's. I know that the hotel I stayed in had a spa and we had massages which were great. "Never save something for a special occasion. Every day in your life is a special occasion". _party_0 -
join the hyatt membership, it's free and when you book call the hotel to let them know and you should get an upgrade ;-)
as for getting bored, you could do but if you like doing nothign I coudl not think of a better place to do it, you can always take excussions if you wanted to0 -
we went to el gouna and loved it.. didnt like the look of hurghada at all as there was lots of building going on and high rise flats etc
elgouna has its own website that u can check.....the buildings are strictly controlled not allowed to be above 3 stories and the shop owners arent allowed to bother u overly
its very quiet and has some lovely hotels and a couple of clubs.. it maybe a sanitised version of egypt but its lovely and relaxing
have funWhen you know better you do better0 -
Hi,
We have been to the Hyatt 3 times and it is I think the best hotel in Taba. The layout of the hotel is really nice and well spread out and lots of lovely flowers. The entertainment is not very good, but that is just Egypt. If you want lots to do around the area then this is not the place to go but if you want a nice relaxing holiday then this is the place to go.
If you like diving then this is the place to go. There is a free bus, I think from memory about every hour to Water world and this also goes to most of the other hotels on route, so will stop at the Sofitel, Marriott, Intercontinental. You can also get off at these other hotel to have a look round.
They also started the dine around programme with some of the other hotels as well but not sure of the full terms and conditions.
Definitely join the Hyatt gold card scheme, as you get discounts, late checkout, and fruit in your room.
There is a presidential suite that you may be able to hire for a day or too, but not sure how much it would be.
Hope this helps
