Focus windscreen replace

I thought I would as k this question here as I know im going to drop through the floor on this price.

ok, 09 Focus Zetec 1.6 heated front window has a 10 cm crack on the left side close to the rubber seal. I cannot see this being repaired. Damn lorrys throwing up stones, I could cry.

Whats the replace cost please.

Phone round the independents, who will be quite a bit cheaper than autoglass and might even make worth considering instead of going via insurance.

I was thinking really what are the costs of replacing a front heated window? If my insurance covers cost I will have to pay excess, so I think for replacement that would be £250, and I know that would be cheaper than replacing private rather than going through insurance. Not sure on the insurance yet as havent called them being bank hol

Not a focus but I just got a Kia sportage 07 plate new heated windscreen and was £475.. Just to give you an idea of price..

Check your policy.
Most insurance has around £100 excess for windscreens (your extra voluntary excess is not counted on a windscreen), and they must be done by whoever is in cahoots with the insurer, but it doesn't affect your no-claims bonus.
