Director filed wrong termination dates

Hello all,
Don't know if this is the right place for me to put this but I need some advice.
About 8 weeks, I resigned as a director from a limited company. I did so by writing and email and all other directors acknowledged this. My understanding was that the onus fell on remaining directors to file the appropriate forms with Companies House.
They did so. However, to my shock, they have filed my termination of director form to make it look I resigned some time last year. This is not the case. I resigned 8 weeks ago and I have letters and acknowledgements to prove it. Isn't this illegal? I thought false filing is illegal?
I took this up with the remaining directors and they have refused to change the date and have further, changed the accounting dates for the company for the financial year to end the day I 'resigned' last year.
Is this an accounting quirk? It was my understanding that Companies House filings had to be, you know ... honest?

This would sound like a prima facie case of false accounting. I will not dress it up for you and put sugar on it. The onus for completing the 288b is on the resigning officer, not the company secretary. They have to submit it as a rule, but that does not happen all the time.
Have you got any correspondence that proves you stepped down when you say you did? A letter to the chairman/Managing Director that was acknowledged? If you have anything, and you feel the reason for their altering the date was to do benefit from a declaration of a dividend at a later period by changing the end of year.
£10 on the companieshouse.gov.uk website will get you a lot of information with respect to the company, its filings etc. That may point you in the right direction.
Ensure you get to the bottom of it as it could affect you in the tears to come.
I hope this helps?0
