Title question - pls help!

If a guest has the title of Major (to one of the reserve forces) and is also a part time Equerry to a member of the Royal Household, is it correct to assume that on a wedding invitation, 'Major X' should be used? We're assuming the title of Major 'trumps' their role as an Equerry.
A huge thank you for any advice in advance.

Presumably their duties as an equerry arise from their being an army officer.
I'm not aware of a form of address specific to an equerry. Unless they have any other title then use their army rank - Major Josepth Bloggs.0 -
As a reservist the invite is presuemably going to a civvy address so it would be best to not have Major X on the outside envelope. On the invite, as Anamenottaken says, Equerry is a job not a title, so its just Major X
What's going on table place-names? Do they want their military connections advertised to all & sundry?
Is it a military wedding & if so are they being invited as a friend or someones boss? Are the bride/groom military? Are civilians getting Mr/Mrs/Miss or just 1st & last names?0 -
Thanks heaps, that's brilliant! Yep, civvy wedding and place names will be 'Joe Bloggs' and 'Jane Bloggs' with no titles - we just want to make sure we get it right on the actual invitation.0

In all honesty I'd go with Mr rather than Major. Unless he's been knighted then sir obviously.0
