firefox search

when i type anything into the firefox search nothing happens

i can click on bookmarks and they connect fine

have tried removing then re-installing f/fox to no avail

windows 7 64bit (if that helps)

Try restoring the search defaults.

Do you mean the search field (has a search provider name in and a magnifying glass icon to right) or the address bar (shows the address of the current page)?

I had a similar issue with typing into the address bar not causing a search. Info to fix this is on this page:

Do the opposite of the instructions for turning off search.
