Music

Options
Hi all

Has anyone got any ideas about ceremony music?

I don't really want sort of classical music or anything I'd rather have something contemporary.

I was thinking maybe Dolly Parton - Marry Me for the entrance, but don't know if people would take offence:

And then for the exit maybe River by Emeli Sande, but don't know if this is too solemn but I just like the song.

I think all we can do is say if YOU both like the mussic then its your wedding.

I'm walking into Girl on Fire and we're walking out to Let's Go Surfing Now. I'm not fussed what guests think.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

I think the only person that would likey take offence to "Marry Me" is his mum! But if she's a good sort then you can explain to her beforehand that it's not personal, and she might find it very funny!

As jax has said, it's Your wedding. Our pieces aren't standard either, we didn't want anything too soppy. But when I listen to them it makes me well up and I know they're perfect! That's the thing, listening to lots of songs and seeing how it makes you feel. :)

If you are talking about a church wedding then it would be a good idea to check if they have any restrictions.

And vice versa for a registrar's ceremony, you cannot have anything with holy connotations.

But as others say, pick what you like.
Me & the hub walked up the aisle to N-trance "Set you free" :D
  • Take a look on amazon and listen to http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wedding-Day-Piano-Classics/dp/B007RX5Z8U/ref=dm_cd_album_lnk

I got both and we had various ones playing throughout including the Superman love theme while we signed the register and somewhere over the rainbow as we walked up the aisle together.
  • So apparently we have to fill 25 minutes worth of music for "guests assembling", one song for brides entrance, 15 minutes worth for register signing then one song for couple exit.

Anyone got any ideas? I've got some songs I like for some of it but a bit stumped

What bands do you both like? Would any of their songs be suitable?

I don't like anything too soppy either, infact I don't know what music we are walking in to tomorrow? If anything? They never mentioned it and I never thought to query it, because it's in the Blacksmiths Shop at Gretna Green, and there isn't an aisle to walk down!

That's quite a lot of music you've got to get together there isn't it? :)

Recently discovered a couple of little gems while on a music hunt:

I only have eyes for you - The Flamingoes (bit sloppy, but Love the shuwup shuwup)
With this ring - The Platters (bit more upbeat)

We had a look around the blacksmiths a few weeks ago and noticed a music system with a long list of songs next to it ;) maybe they will ask you to choose some songs :)

Ah thanks! :) We were driving back home when we realised they hadn't asked us and we hadn't thought to mention it either. Probably our choice of songs might not have been appropriate anyhow, as we like Rock (Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley Crüe etc!), I hope they aren't too soppy!
