Feedback.....

As a seller are you bothered or concerned at all if you don't receive any feedback ?
If you are then what action if any do you take?
I'm only a private seller but would prefer some feedback rather than none at all.

It does concern me slightly when I don't get feedback after a normal amount of time has passed (I never ask for it, I wait). I have about three at the moment that I've heard nothing from, I assume they've received their items OK and that they're happy, but there's no way to tell unless they leave feedback or get in touch!

I'm a private seller, and I used to be more bothered about not receiving it when I had a lower number.
But it doesn't bother me these days, now that I have 500+ feedback.
I would worry that pestering someone would annoy them, or if I'm extra paranoid, I would worry that they might think I was checking if it had turned up, which might give them ideas to claim it hadn't.

As a business seller, feedback is not something I worry about receiving, but I can understand, when i'm selling privately and I sell a high value item I do tend to worry that there would be an issue and it does give peace of mind to know the item has got there in one piece.

On my business account I got a negative from a buyer who said 'refused to leave feedback', when they had messaged me in the middle of the night asking for feedback. eBay removed this, I don't understand the obsession some people have with getting feedback as a buyer.

I have to admit, it's nice to get feedback of the positive variety, if only to know that the item reached it's destination safely.

But if I don't get any feedback, I don't ask for it, that's inviting trouble. I also don't ask for feedback in my listing or with my packing slip.

A transaction is about a buyer paying and the seller getting the the item to them safely.

It's not about getting feedback. Sometimes it seems if some eBayers think the feedback is the most important aspect of the whole transaction.

When I've bought something, paid promptly and left feedback, it would be nice to get feedback in return. I do find it slightly annoying when the seller seems to have left feedback for other buyers, but has ignored me, I feel like asking 'where's my feedback then ?'

I don't but it does irk me !

No news is good news as far as I'm concerned with feedback. I don't go looking for problems. 14,000+ and only 2 neg, so I'm doing something right.

Feedback for buyers is now all but meaningless and should be abolished. In its place e-bay should give the buyer a transaction number which goes up by one with every purchase. Sellers can still be left feedback and DSR stars.

Not getting feedback doesn't bother me at all although at least when someone does leave feedback at least you know that they have received the item.

The oddest one I had was from some chap who purchased an item and left a negative 40 minutes later because he'd been waiting half an hour and I hadn't left him positive feedback in that time!! I'd gone out and wasn't even aware that he'd won an an item.

Another one left a negative feedback for non-receipt of an item. To be fair, we hadn't sent it but only because they hadn't paid for it, despite reminders and an NPB case.

Both were removed by Ebay. I really don't know what goes through some people's minds when they enter the world of Ebay.

You can check whether a buyer has a habit of not leaving feedback and if they regularly don't then there shouldn't be anything to worry about. What's worrying is when they leave feedback very quickly after their transaction dates and haven't left any for you...
