noisy tv ?

Yesterday I noticed the TV has a "fuzzy" noise in the background. It's on all channels.
Does this mean TV death is looming?

    Could be the reception.

Is this on normal TV or Sky/Virgin or some other service?

Does it do it with the volume turned down?. If so it's probably one of the circuit boards on it's way out.

If it is a flat screen TV then it could be that the audio is picking up one of the electronic switching circuits, it could just be one of the components ageing, but does not necessarily mean it will fail immediately, does it buzz with no connection to the skybox ?, if it does then the buzz is coming from the tv, if not, check the cable from the sky box to tv and make sure it is plugged in correctly at both ends, also make sure that cable is not laid over, or touching any other cables, especially a mains cable.
