Hi
We currently have Sky Digital in our living room, but have appaling terrestrial signal so need to get something sorted out for our conservatory.
We dont want to get into paying £10 per month for Multiroom as thats an ongoing expense, so are looking at FreeSat from Sky
I am told though it costs £150 to get it set up and installed.... I know you can get a freeview card for £20 and sky boxes are available on reputable auction websites ;-)
Does anyone know if and how its possible to rig up a privately purchased sky box to our main dish, and enable us to get freeview in one room whilst not affecting our standard subscription service?
THanks

Assuming you have a spare space on the LNB up at the dish, you can just run a cable from there to wherever you want in your house.
As you say, pick up an old Digibox from Ebay and pay £20 for your Freesat card.Dave. :wave:0 -
If its not important to watch different channels in each room, Id get a TV sender unit. Gigavideo is one I can recommed, but there are a few of them about."I'm not even supposed to be here today."0

Doesn't apply to Freesat. You'd still have to pay £10 a month for the recording facility.0
